Accessibility Policy

At MCS Insurance, we want our website to be accessible and usable for as many people as possible.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

At MCS Insurance, we want our website to be accessible and usable for as many people as possible.

This Accessibility Policy explains the steps we take to improve accessibility on mcsverzekeringen.com, the limitations that may still exist, and how you can contact us if you experience an accessibility problem.

01

Our commitment to accessibility

MCS Insurance aims to make its website easier to use for people with different needs, including visitors who:

  • use a screen reader;
  • navigate using a keyboard;
  • have reduced vision;
  • require larger text;
  • prefer higher contrast;
  • have difficulty reading certain fonts;
  • are sensitive to animation or movement; or
  • use assistive technologies.

We aim to improve the accessibility of our website on an ongoing basis.

02

Accessibility features on our website

The MCS website includes an accessibility tool that allows visitors to adjust the way the website is displayed.

Depending on the device and browser used, the accessibility tool may provide options including:

  • increasing or reducing text size;
  • increasing line spacing;
  • switching to a more readable font;
  • enabling higher contrast;
  • switching to a monochrome view;
  • underlining links;
  • stopping or reducing animations;
  • increasing focus visibility; and
  • resetting accessibility preferences.

The accessibility button is available on both desktop and mobile devices.

These features are intended to make the website easier to use, but they do not replace accessible website design or the use of appropriate assistive technology.

03

Keyboard navigation

We aim to ensure that important website functions can be accessed using a keyboard.

This includes, where technically possible:

  • navigation links;
  • buttons;
  • contact forms;
  • interactive elements;
  • cookie controls; and
  • accessibility controls.

The website also includes visible focus indicators to help keyboard users understand which element is currently selected.

04

Skip-to-content functionality

Where supported by the page structure, the website provides a skip link that allows keyboard and assistive technology users to move directly to the main page content.

This can reduce the need to navigate repeatedly through menus and other page elements.

05

Text and readability

We aim to use:

  • clear headings;
  • readable text sizes;
  • sufficient spacing;
  • understandable language;
  • logical page structures; and
  • reasonable colour contrast.

Visitors can also use the accessibility tool or browser settings to adjust text size and display preferences.

06

Images

Where appropriate, we aim to provide alternative text for meaningful images.

Decorative images may intentionally use empty alternative text so that they do not create unnecessary interruptions for screen reader users.

Some older website content or third-party content may not yet have complete alternative text.

We continue to improve this where practical.

07

Forms

We aim to make website forms understandable and usable.

This includes using:

  • clear field labels;
  • understandable instructions;
  • keyboard-accessible controls; and
  • appropriate error messages where possible.

If you have difficulty using a form, you can contact MCS directly by email.

08

Colours and contrast

The MCS website uses a visual design based primarily on dark blue, light blue and white.

We aim to maintain sufficient contrast between text and its background.

Visitors who require stronger contrast can use the accessibility controls available on the website.

09

Animation and movement

Some parts of the website may include animations, transitions or moving elements.

Visitors who prefer reduced motion can use the accessibility tool to stop animations where supported.

Browser and operating system reduced-motion preferences may also influence how certain website effects are displayed.

10

Responsive design

The MCS website is designed to work on a range of devices, including:

  • desktop computers;
  • laptops;
  • tablets; and
  • smartphones.

Accessibility options are also intended to remain available on mobile devices.

11

Chatbot accessibility

The MCS website includes a chatbot that helps visitors find information.

We aim to make the chatbot usable with standard website navigation and assistive technologies where technically possible.

The chatbot is an additional support tool and is not the only way to contact MCS.

If the chatbot is difficult for you to use, you can contact us directly by email or through the website contact options.

12

Cookie controls

Our cookie consent controls are designed to allow visitors to:

  • accept optional cookies;
  • reject optional cookies; and
  • return to cookie settings later.

We aim to make these controls usable with a keyboard and understandable to users of assistive technologies.

13

Third-party content and services

Some website features may rely on third-party services.

These can include services such as:

  • Google services;
  • reCAPTCHA;
  • WhatsApp;
  • embedded content; or
  • external websites.

MCS does not fully control the accessibility of independent third-party services.

Where possible, we aim to select services that support accessible use.

14

Accessibility standards

We aim to improve the website with reference to recognised accessibility principles and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Our accessibility objective Our objective is to work towards a website that is increasingly compatible with WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility principles.

However, we do not claim that every page or feature currently meets every WCAG success criterion.

Accessibility is an ongoing process and improvements may be introduced over time.

15

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible.

Possible limitations can include:

  • older content that was created before current accessibility improvements;
  • third-party tools;
  • embedded external content;
  • documents or files supplied in formats that are not fully accessible;
  • images without complete alternative descriptions;
  • complex layouts on older pages; or
  • browser-specific behaviour.

We aim to correct significant accessibility issues where reasonably possible.

16

Assistive technologies and browser settings

The accessibility tool provided by MCS is optional.

You may also use accessibility features built into your:

  • web browser;
  • operating system;
  • screen reader;
  • magnification software; or
  • mobile device.

These tools may provide additional options such as text enlargement, voice control, screen magnification, colour filters or reduced motion.

17

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you experience difficulty using the MCS website, we would like to know.

Please tell us:

  • which page you were using;
  • what problem you experienced;
  • which browser or device you were using, if relevant; and
  • what information or service you were trying to access.

This helps us investigate the problem and improve the website.

18

Alternative access to information

If website content is not accessible to you, you can ask us to provide the relevant information in another reasonable format where possible.

We will try to assist depending on the nature of the request and the information concerned.
